**Key Responsibilities**

  • Prepare operating rooms for surgery, utilizing appropriate techniques and protocols to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Assist patients with surgery, maintaining a high level of professionalism and respect for patient dignity.
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
  • Pull cases completely and provide all necessary equipment for procedures.
  • Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and follow infection control policies.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
  • Assist in maintaining correct counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges.
  • Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients, demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy.
  • Identify and care for specimens.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repair as needed.
  • Assist in clearing OR suites.

**Requirements**

  • Previous experience as a Surgical Technician.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Completion of a course for surgical technicians preferred.
  • Full command of the English language (verbal and written).
  • Physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform assigned duties.
