KPC Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, utilizing appropriate techniques and protocols to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
- Assist patients with surgery, maintaining a high level of professionalism and respect for patient dignity.
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
- Pull cases completely and provide all necessary equipment for procedures.
- Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and follow infection control policies.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
- Assist in maintaining correct counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges.
- Provide comfort and support for pre-operative patients, demonstrating sensitivity to patient care and privacy.
- Identify and care for specimens.
- Notify appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and repair as needed.
- Assist in clearing OR suites.
**Requirements**
- Previous experience as a Surgical Technician.
- Current BLS certification.
- Completion of a course for surgical technicians preferred.
- Full command of the English language (verbal and written).
- Physical abilities, including heavy lifting, and perceptive acuity (e.g., visual, hearing) to satisfactorily perform assigned duties.
