Essential Duties:

  • Analyze operating costs in collaboration with the Plant Controller.
  • Advance Lean manufacturing principles as the Lean Manager.
  • Work alongside the Purchasing Department to evaluate new materials and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and productivity objectives.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with established safety protocols.
  • Oversee operations within budget constraints while driving continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Manager to uphold quality standards and specifications.
  • Plan and manage manpower requirements to achieve labor goals.
  • Address employee relations issues to foster a positive workplace atmosphere.
  • Recruit, develop, and motivate a competent supervisory team to ensure efficient production operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations across multiple departments or shifts.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing operational metrics to drive performance.
  • Experience in budget management and development.
  • Background in foundry or heavy manufacturing is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in cost-saving initiatives and inventory management.
  • Ability to inspire colleagues and foster a positive environment on the production floor.
  • Experience in making impactful decisions in a dynamic setting.
  • Strong change management skills.
  • Proficient in advanced spreadsheet tools and manufacturing control software.
  • Motivated to meet schedules and respond to customer needs.
  • Professional certifications such as Green Belt or Black Belt are a plus.
  • Advanced education is an asset.
