Job Summary

Christus Health is seeking a highly skilled Perinatal Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Mother Baby Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to new mothers and their babies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Mother Baby Department, demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, identifying issues and resources.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferably in a Perinatal setting.
  • Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal setting is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • RN License in state of employment or compact.
  • BLS required.
  • Current STABLE certification from one of the following courses: Participant, Lead Instructor, or Support Instructor.
  • Current NRP certification.
