We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced NICU Director Level III RN to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. Key Responsibilities- Cultivate a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices to advance patient safety and quality outcomes.
- Manage variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost.
- Stay abreast of internal/external benchmarks, accreditations, and designations and actively pursue efforts to achieve.
- Ensure efficient patient throughput and delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through volume forecasting, patient flow coordination, and admission/discharge planning.
- Develop care coordination policies and procedures to promote improved quality, safety, and efficiency in care.
- Foster interdisciplinary communication and collaboration within and across departments and ensure staff with appropriate clinical competencies are assigned to meet patient care needs.
- Direct nursing practice and unit operations, developing policies, procedures, and nursing standards to ensure patient and family needs are assessed, met, and evaluated.
- Provide leadership in attaining and sustaining an unparalleled patient experience, instilling accountability for providing consistent, positive patient interactions that differentiate the organization as a healthcare leader.
- Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction, developing and implementing strategies to elevate the patient experience.
- Foster a culture that inspires commitment to the vision/mission/values of the organization, ensuring employees are recognized, valued, and supported, and developing and implementing strategies to elevate employee engagement.
- Collaborate with administrative team and physicians to enhance existing services or develop new service offerings.
- Participate in the annual budget process, including input into department revenue and expense forecasts, staffing, and supply and equipment needs, monitoring department budget performance, identifying trends, and evaluating variances in relation to established budget, and developing and implementing actions to address performance gaps.
- Bachelor's Degree or other approved education plan required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
- BLS.
- ACLS preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in healthcare required.
- 1+ year of experience in leadership role required.
St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds.
