Registered Respiratory Therapist NICU Pediatrics

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist NICU Pediatrics to join our team at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a member of our patient-focused care team, you will be responsible for providing critical care and diagnostic procedures to patients of all ages. Responsibilities- Perform basic respiratory equipment maintenance, quality control measures, and other administrative or technical tasks.
- Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment.
- Perform a range of technical procedures related to cardiopulmonary hemodynamics.
- Demonstrate competency in proper airway care.
- Assess patients appropriately, interpret results accurately, and suggest alternative respiratory treatment.
- Exhibit competency in the performance of routine patient assessment and in the ability to correctly recognize and interpret respiratory dysfunction.
- Function as a respiratory care protocol assessor by delivering therapy and reassessing patients in a timely manner and maintaining proper and accurate documentation.
- Communicate regularly with physicians and nurses about patient care plans and updates.
- Responsible to go to high-risk deliveries to stabilize patients on adequate respiratory support.
- NICU/PEDI Hospital experience preferred.
- Graduate of an American Medical Association accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist credential by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Current Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
- Current certification as Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required for NICU RRT Staff.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required for ICU RRT staff.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required for NICU RRT Staff.
St. David's North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas with more than 360 beds. The facility is home to St. David's Children's Hospital, St. David's Women's Center of Texas featuring a Level III NICU, a Kidney Transplant Center, and the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery. Additional services offered at this medical center include 24-hour emergency care, heart and vascular care, neurology and neurosurgery, rehabilitation services, and inpatient and outpatient surgery.
