Old Dominion Freight Line is currently seeking an Operations Leader to become part of our OD Family Culture. This leader will effectively oversee and guide supervisors and all other personnel to efficiently manage workload. Responsibilities include the recruitment of hourly employees, dock workers, and drivers, as well as ongoing claims prevention and training initiatives. The Operations Leader will also be accountable for scheduling, directing, and preparing for monthly dock and driver meetings, while monitoring daily production, load averages, and overall service efficiency of their assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and manage staff to meet workload demands
  • Provide direct leadership to service center supervisory personnel
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure optimal service center efficiency
  • Focus on load planning from origin, analyzing cause and effect
  • Conduct safety and claims meetings with all team members
  • Continuously develop and enhance service center staff capabilities
  • Achieve and maintain performance goals set by the company and Service Center Manager
  • Monitor supervisor performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Ensure service center maintenance tasks are completed
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory or operational role
  • Familiarity with AS400, Microsoft Office, DYMS, and BLU systems
  • Understanding of general DOT regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal abilities
Compensation Range:

The stated salary range reflects the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level.

($93,646-$117,057)
