Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold high professional standards and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Possess extensive knowledge in multi-state sales & use tax, fuel tax/IFTA, and manage the preparation and submission of returns.
  • Conduct thorough research to determine economic nexus.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and expense reimbursements.
  • Assist management and external CPA firms during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reviewing financial records.
  • Oversee month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze financial data and generate reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights to the executive team regarding financial risks and challenges that may affect profitability.
  • Approach challenges with a positive and proactive mindset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and understand its significance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, coupled with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with a preference for Sage 50.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector is advantageous.
