About the Role

The South Bend Clinic is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Infusion Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Infusion Therapy department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the success of our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications and treatments to patients via infusion, following physician orders and protocols.
  • Conduct lab draws, injections, and initiate, care for, and monitor IVs, ensuring accurate and timely administration.
  • Obtain and document patient consents for procedures, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Dispose of sharps and cytotoxic waste properly, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Accurately document patient phone calls and interactions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Perform duties of a Registered Nurse in an Infusion Center setting, including monitoring and recording vital signs as specified by physician orders or drug requirements.
  • Educate and teach patients on new medications and treatments, ensuring they understand their care and any potential side effects.
  • Calculate dosages and mixtures of medications accurately, staying up-to-date on common side effects of infusion drugs.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to changes in patient status, such as allergic reactions or other adverse reactions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, restocking rooms, nursing carts, and crash carts as needed.
  • Exhibit proficiency in computer systems and software necessary for job functions.
  • Demonstrate the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the team and contributing to the success of the department.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure and IV certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in IV and infusion therapy, with the ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care.
