We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Social Services Specialist to join our team at Cabarrus County, NC. The successful candidate will provide intermediate advanced human support work assisting clients by training them in areas of household management and health care and community living skills.
Key Responsibilities- Transport clients to medical, social, and educational resources to ensure they receive necessary services
- Supervise visits between parents and children, making visits to family homes to determine needs and assist families in setting goals for correction
- Teach families parenting and household management skills, including budgeting, meal planning, and personal health and cleanliness
- Maintain records and confidentiality
- Appropriately accredited associate's degree in human services or related field
- One year of experience in similar instructional and community services tasks, or graduation from high school and two years of experience in similar tasks
- Valid NC driver's license and ability to drive an automobile safely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Knowledge of agency programs and community resources
- Experience working with families and children
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly. The position may require after-hours work and travel to various locations. The worker may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
