Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on light and heavy duty vehicles, engines, and equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions using technical and computerized testing equipment.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs to vehicles, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake replacements.
  • Disassemble and repair motors and manual transmissions.
  • Repair or replace oil filters, carburetors, fuel pumps, and other parts.
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment.
  • Fabricate tools and equipment parts using metal fabrication, welding, and hardfacing techniques.
  • Perform state emissions testing and inspections to ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Order replacement parts, fuels, and lubricates equipment as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of specialized technical or vocational training related to vehicle maintenance and repair.

Experience: Three years of skilled mechanic experience in maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel engines.

Equivalent Combination: An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
