Role Responsibilities
The selected candidate will act as a vital technical and project resource within our aviation planning division, serving clients primarily in the Midwest and extending to the southeastern and southcentral regions of the United States.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing airport master plans, layout plans, site selection studies, and conducting obstruction analyses.
- Performing forecasting, noise and environmental assessments, terminal planning, sustainability evaluations, and business planning.
- Supporting smart airport planning initiatives and assisting in the preparation of grant applications.
- Presenting analytical findings through technical memoranda, reports, and presentations to governmental bodies and stakeholders.
- Engaging in the preparation of technical proposals and fostering external relationships.
- Coordinating with clients and project teams on assigned tasks.
- Undertaking additional duties as required.
Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Experience managing complex and contentious projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of AEDT and/or AviPlan Turn is preferred.
- Experience in overseeing project financials is advantageous.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to convey intricate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders.
- Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Willingness to embrace a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Aviation Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in airport planning with progressive responsibilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of FAA advisory circulars and orders.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory bodies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Certifications such as AICP, AAE, CM, LEED, ENV SP, etc.
- Demonstrated experience as a project manager or task leader in airport planning.
- Experience mentoring and supervising junior staff.
Work Environment:
- Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
- Travel to client sites or regulatory agencies may be required, including potential overnight stays.
