Job Overview

Position Summary: The Offshore Subsea Controls Electrical Technician plays a critical role in the assembly, testing, and maintenance of subsea production control systems and drilling control hydraulic power units (HPUs). This position demands a high level of expertise in electrical operations, ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout all processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Proficiency: Interpret schematics, P&IDs, and written instructions to effectively assemble and operate equipment.
  • System Assembly: Assemble and conduct tests on subsea production control systems and drilling control HPUs, adhering to industry specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety during all operations, assembly, and testing activities.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in safety and quality observation programs, ensuring adherence to established processes and procedures.
  • Maintenance Operations: Conduct maintenance and operational tasks on rental equipment, both onshore and offshore.
  • Fluid Analysis: Perform analysis on various control fluids and chemicals.
  • Electrical Diagnostics: Execute both high and low voltage terminations and diagnostics.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and communicate design discrepancies while suggesting improvements.
  • Documentation: Complete necessary documentation including daily reports, service tickets, and test reports.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with a valid passport.
  • Testing Procedures: Prepare test procedures and operational manuals in accordance with customer and industry standards.
  • Diagnostics Testing: Conduct various diagnostic tests on electrical conductors and fiber optic cables.
  • Installation: Install fiber optic connection terminations.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in assembly, operations, and testing of HPUs for subsea applications, with at least 2 years in an offshore electrical service technician role.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; technical/vocational training in electrical fields is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading engineering drawings, BOMs, and wiring diagrams.
  • Safety Certification: Offshore safety certification is mandatory.
  • Computer Skills: Competence in using computers and Microsoft Office software.
