Position Details

Title: Culinary Specialist

Location: RiverSpring Residences - ALR

Schedule: Flexible

Compensation: $27.00 per hour

The Culinary Specialist reports directly to the Chef or General Manager. This role involves preparing and serving meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and catered events. The Culinary Specialist must operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, dishwashers, slicers, coffee machines, steamers, mixers, and chef's knives. Excellent customer service is essential in all aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of food preparation areas, ensuring safe and sanitary food handling practices.
  • Monitor and adjust cooking temperatures to ensure food is stored and prepared safely.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients, managing inventory effectively.
  • Prepare and cook food items, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Set up food stations according to company guidelines.
  • Utilize various cooking methods, including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately, following recipes under supervision.
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables for cooking.
  • Prepare meats and seafood for service.
  • May assist in baking breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries.
  • Keep records of food usage and assist with inventory management.
  • Serve food to customers promptly and efficiently.
  • Support culinary and front-of-house staff as needed.
  • Communicate equipment and supply needs to supervisors.
  • Adhere to company standards for safety, sanitation, and productivity.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a kitchen setting, where employees may encounter various kitchen equipment and environmental factors such as heat, steam, and noise.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which may include sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds. The role requires standing for extended periods and manual dexterity, as well as the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
