Salary Range: $120,000 - $150,000 per year

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our orthopaedic team. As a key member of our medical staff, you will work closely with our supervising physicians to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist supervising physician in the office, hospital, and first assist in surgery.
  • Obtain detailed medical histories, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and provide direct patient care to a specified patient population.
  • Write routine admission, pre-operative, and post-operative orders.
  • Making daily rounds and post-operative follow-ups on hospitalized patients.
  • Perform hospital and emergency department consultations.
  • First assisting in surgery.
  • Perform patient evaluations and initiate treatment after consultation with attending physician.
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, and traction.
  • Write discharge orders and dictate discharge summaries for review and countersignature by attending physician.
  • Notify supervising physician or attending physician on call regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
  • Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and support staff within the office.
  • Write and dictate progress notes on patients' charts indicating patient status and treatment procedures performed; maintain other records as required.
  • Provide health education to patients and families.
  • Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • May perform clinical research.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Currently certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant by the State of Florida.
  • 2-4 years of clinical experience preferred.
