Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Part-time Lecturer to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in marine science at San Jose State University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oceanography, marine ecology, or a related field, and excellent teaching and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Teach small to large lecture courses, seminars, and activity sections in marine science
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective teaching methods to promote student learning and success
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong background in oceanography, marine ecology, or a related field
  • Excellent teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching courses in marine science
  • Knowledge of the subject matter of the specific course
  • Good oral and written communication skills
