Job Title: Part-Time Lecturer Pool

California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking part-time to nearly full-time lecturer position(s) available for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering courses.

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineering Department in the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, is seeking part-time to nearly full-time lecturer position(s) available for the 2024-2025 academic year to teach undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering courses.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate Electrical Engineering courses
  • Develop and implement course materials and assessments
  • Advise students and provide guidance on academic and professional development
  • Participate in departmental and university service activities
Requirements:
  • B.S. in electronic, electrical, computer science, or computer engineering required for lab courses; M.S. in electronic, electrical, or computer engineering (or B.S. with applicable industrial experience) required for lecture courses
  • Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning and teaching, as well as the ability to collaboratively work in multidisciplinary settings
  • Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral use of the English language
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. preferred
  • Experience in working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment
  • Relevant work experience and professional capabilities
Special Conditions:
  • The person holding this position is considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment
  • Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo
