Transportation Specialist for Seniors

HANAC, Inc. is a prominent social services organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities. We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide essential transportation services for older adults, ensuring their mobility and access to community resources.
Compensation: $18.50 per hour
Work Schedule: On-call/As needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport senior clients to various destinations, including community events and essential services.
- Assist clients with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle as necessary.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers by enforcing the use of seatbelts and other safety equipment.
- Maintain accurate daily records of passenger trips.
- Collect contributions from participants during rides.
- Perform administrative duties, such as answering phones and communicating with clients.
- Keep the vehicle in excellent condition through regular cleaning and maintenance.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Sanitize the vehicle after each trip to ensure a safe environment.
- Manage routine maintenance and repairs, including fuel and oil changes.
- Document gasoline usage and mileage on a daily basis.
- Return the vehicle to the designated location at the end of each shift.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid NYS Commercial Driver's License.
- A minimum of two years of driving experience.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English; additional language skills are a plus.
- Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination status as required.
- Maintain the Department of Transportation medical certification with annual testing.
