Recertification Specialist

HANAC, Inc. is a leading social services organization in New York City, dedicated to serving vulnerable populations. We are seeking a highly skilled Recertification Specialist to join our team.

• Administer the recertification process for HUD subsidized senior apartment buildings and Rent Stabilized LIHTC Properties.
• Communicate operational information to tenants and work with building staff to maintain a safe and pleasant living environment.
• Oversee the annual recertification of tenants, prepare tenant files for HUD MOR readiness, and maintain EIV files and reports.
• Prepare annual owner certifications, HOME annual owner certifications, and submit required reports and filings to regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate site visits and inspections from regulatory agencies, including Enterprise, HUD, HDC, HCR, HPD, and DHS.
• Provide instruction to new tenants on apartment use and building regulations.
• Document and address occupancy-related issues, including tenant complaints and damages.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
• Computer literacy and experience with Yardi/Voyager software.
• Knowledge of HUD, DHCR, HDC, HPD, and Rent Stabilized Rules and Regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate logs and write reports.
• Supervisory skills and ability to work with multi-ethnic seniors.
• Bilingual skills in Greek, Spanish, Chinese, or Korean are a plus.
