Salary Range: $25.34 per hour

Job Summary:

Brightpoint is seeking a qualified Head Start Preschool Teacher to join our team. As a Head Start Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality learning experiences for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with an assistant teacher, family members, and other staff to achieve positive outcomes for children of all abilities.
  2. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records on each child's progress and development for the purpose of planning and compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
  3. Parent Engagement: Engage, coordinate, and work closely with parents to ensure their involvement in their child's education.
  4. Individualized Education Plans: Develop and implement individualized education plans for children with disabilities.
  5. Classroom Environment: Create a safe, nurturing environment that provides enriching experiences throughout the daily routine.
  6. Adult Behavior Indicators: Demonstrate adult behavior indicators as outlined in CLASS, scoring at or above the minimum threshold scores for Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support.
  7. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, Licensing requirements, and program policies, procedures, and guidelines in the day-to-day operation of the classroom.
  8. Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education required. Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent coursework preferred.
  2. Experience: Three (3) years' work experience in the field of early childhood education preferred.
  3. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Certifications: Must become certified in CPR and First Aid within twelve (12) months of hire.
  5. Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and have access to dependable transportation.
  6. Insurance: When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance.
