Job Summary:

The Head Start Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of an individual Brightpoint Head Start site. This includes managing staff, ensuring quality early childhood programming, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and implement Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC criteria, and Licensing requirements in the day-to-day operation of the Head Start Center
  • Collaborate with the Head Start Education Manager to ensure a quality Early Childhood Education program
  • Ensure Active Supervision of children at the assigned site
  • Perform the duties of a Teacher at a single classroom site
  • Monitor Head Start classrooms and ensure they meet quality standards
  • Work with the landlord to maintain a harmonious relationship and ensure the facility is safe and well-maintained
  • Ensure the site is properly maintained, with clean and orderly classrooms, and adequate equipment and supplies
  • Monitor and ensure appropriate in-kind donations at the site
  • Assist with site recruitment efforts to ensure full enrollment
  • Ensure classrooms demonstrate the adult behavior indicators as outlined in CLASS, scoring at or above the benchmark
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality at all times

Requirements:
  • Minimum of an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Three years' experience in the early childhood profession
  • Two years' experience in an administrative/supervisory position preferred
  • Experience with accreditation and Indiana State Licensing attainment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with ability to perform assignments efficiently and accurately
  • Must become CPR/FA certified within twelve (12) months of employment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Basic computer and mathematics skills
