Senior Licensed Vocational Nurse

Position Overview: In this position, you will deliver direct patient care to a varied patient demographic. You will collaborate with clinic leadership, administrative personnel, attending physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, and other clinical staff, including LVNs and MAs, as well as support personnel to ensure comprehensive patient care. Your role will involve upholding high standards of care and identifying both normal and abnormal signs indicative of critical medical situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prioritize tasks and protocols set forth by the department.

Compensation: Salary range: $34.61-$45.66/ Hourly

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners, including Intravenous Therapy and blood withdrawal certification.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other procedures within the scope of practice.
  • Competence in taking vital signs, administering medications, and processing drug refills as necessary.
  • Capability to identify abnormal laboratory results and communicate findings to the physician.
  • Understanding of common and life-threatening medical conditions.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows functions and computerized patient care systems.
  • Awareness of safety protocols when managing biohazardous materials or contaminated instruments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative working environment with physicians, staff, and healthcare providers.
  • Effective verbal communication skills to relay sensitive information courteously, both in person and over the phone.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with instruments and supplies necessary for conducting physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • At least 6 months of experience as an LVN.
