Key Responsibilities:
Educational Planning:
- Establish a learning environment that promotes exploration, creativity, and play.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with developmental best practices and utilize evidence-based methods.
- Utilize observations and assessments to tailor lessons to meet the developmental needs of each child.
- Design and implement interventions for children requiring additional support.
- Make referrals for further evaluation when necessary.
- Adopt a constructive approach to guidance and behavior management, focusing on children's strengths.
- Provide structured routines that help children learn self-regulation and independence.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children through constant supervision.
- Apply Active Supervision principles consistently.
- Actively engage with children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Incorporate both child-led and teacher-led learning experiences.
- Encourage creativity and exploration among all children.
- Foster a lifelong love of learning.
- Regularly collect and document observations of children's progress using established assessment tools.
- Collaborate with families and community members to enhance the educational experience.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary assessments and IEP meetings when necessary.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's development and educational goals.
As an entry-level position, the Teacher I will work closely with the Professional Development Team to identify career advancement opportunities. The Teacher I will be expected to complete specific requirements to qualify for higher-level positions, including mentorship, attendance at relevant conferences, and successful performance evaluations.
Work Environment:
The role involves working in dynamic classroom settings and may require travel. Employees may encounter varying environmental conditions and moderate noise levels.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in child development or early childhood education, or an associate degree with relevant experience is preferred. Candidates should possess a strong commitment to early childhood education and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
