Job Summary

The Mechanical Mastercraft is a critical role within our pulp and paper manufacturing facility, responsible for ensuring the safe and timely maintenance of plant equipment. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, with a focus on welding, pipefitting, lubrication, and millwrighting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance on plant equipment, including welding, pipefitting, and lubrication.
  • Operate power tools and equipment, such as pumps and gearboxes.
  • Align equipment to precise standards and set bearing clearances.
  • Perform oxygen and acetylene burning and arc welding.
  • Repair and maintain base pipes and tubes.
  • Prepare rigging for hoisting rolls, gearboxes, motors, and other equipment.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance Technology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years related industry experience with a stable work history.
  • Ability to operate industrial machinery and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Functional knowledge of basic computer systems.
  • Ability to work at various height elevations and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to withstand working in various temperature and weather conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime.
  • Team-oriented and self-directed.
Work Environment

The Mechanical Mastercraft will work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, and hot and/or cold conditions. The noise level is loud, and the employee will be required to work at various height elevations and in confined spaces.
