Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Mechatronics Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a focus on Mechatronics to join our team at Communications and Power Industries LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and building automated systems that integrate mechanical and electrical components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automated products that combine mechanical and electrical aspects, including gearboxes, motors, encoders, resolvers, and positional feedback systems.
  • Operate tools for testing and assembly, including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, torque wrenches, and other hand tools.
  • Implement components within the design that allow for sensing and actuation, as well as understanding how they relate to control systems and software.
  • Provide inputs throughout the development of these machines from the initial design phase through actual manufacturing, including troubleshooting of production builds.
  • Focus on various design aspects, such as three-dimensional modeling of products, real-time manipulation of controls interfaces, sensor and controls monitoring, and position sensing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field, and a minimum of 4 years of directly related experience. 8 years of directly related experience can be substituted in place of degree.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of control systems, and the ability to work with testing and assembly tools.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on documenting rationale for design choices.
  • Self-management of time to ensure assignment completion.
