Job Overview

Position: Quality Assurance Engineer

Contract Duration: 3+ Months

Compensation: $60 - $70/hr


Key Responsibilities:
  • The Quality Assurance Engineer will formulate and execute testing strategies, methodologies, and scripts to conduct assessments including shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum evaluations on both high and low-voltage aerospace components.
  • This role involves performing verification assessments that encompass power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification tests, along with documenting outcomes for high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion systems.
  • Assist in the integration of vehicle components and analytical tools essential for validating the specifications and performance of units undergoing testing.
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues within a laboratory setting.
  • Support integration and testing processes, which include wiring, hardware setup, and test bench configurations.
  • Engage in design and system evaluations to offer insights on integration and testability throughout all project stages.
  • Contribute to program-level technology advancements, mission assurance, safety initiatives, and enhancements in development processes.
  • Communicate effectively regarding development progress, potential risks, and challenges to management.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electronic hardware development, including testing high voltage switching and power regulation.
  • Experience in analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, including analysis, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and component selection.
  • Familiarity with signal integrity, grounding, and general circuit board layout principles.
  • Proven experience in developing specialized electronic testing equipment and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficient in standard electronic laboratory testing and troubleshooting instruments.
  • Experience with programming languages such as C++ and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with NI Labview / TestStand.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the development and execution of large-scale avionics verification for autonomous spaceflight systems.
  • Experience in supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems.
  • Proficiency in Electrical Design and Analysis tools such as LTSpice, PSpice, SIMetrix/SIMPLIS, and Simscape.

Note:
  • This position may require shift work.
