Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a passenger coach on demand as scheduled, ensuring safe and efficient transportation services.
  • Pre and post-inspect the coach to detect and report any safety or maintenance issues.
  • Observe safe operating practices at all times, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate wheelchair and scooter lifts as needed, safely and properly securing mobility aids.
  • Answer passenger questions and requests, providing accurate information and dealing with disorderly or unruly passengers in a professional manner.
  • Document and record essential trip information as needed, maintaining accurate records.
  • Assist passengers with disabilities on and off the vehicle, ensuring their safe and comfortable transportation.
  • Manually collect fare media, cash, and/or assist with electronic fare application usage.
  • Report mechanical defects, accidents, road hazards, personal or passenger injuries to dispatch, supervisor, or maintenance personnel.
  • Operate a two-way radio as needed, maintaining clear communication with dispatch and other team members.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings and other ongoing trainings as presented, staying up-to-date on company policies and procedures.
  • Provide exemplary customer service at all times, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required, contributing to the success of the team.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must be 21 years of age at time of hire
  • Experience driving large vehicles preferred, but not required
  • Customer Service experience preferred
  • Experience working with people with disabilities preferred, but not required
  • Competency Statement(s) Communications
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and non-verbal skills
  • Customer Focus - Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Leadership - Energetic, innovative self-starter, committed to continuous improvement and creative problem-solving

  • Proficiency - Able to multi-task
  • Must be able to read a map
  • Less than 4 points on driving record
  • No driver's license suspensions in last 7 years
  • Must pass background check, Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination, and drug/alcohol testing
  • Must pass Customer Service and Safety assessment
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
