Role Overview

As the Manager of Water Treatment Innovations, you will lead our initiatives in advancing water treatment technologies. Your role will involve crafting and executing a strategic roadmap aimed at developing state-of-the-art water treatment products. This will require navigating both established and emerging technologies, formulating an innovation strategy, and ensuring successful implementation through collaboration with internal research and development teams, academic institutions, and technology startups. You will work closely with commercial, operational, and product management teams to align with the overall organizational strategy. Your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining our competitive edge in water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a detailed roadmap for innovation in water treatment products.
  • Identify opportunities and deficiencies within the current landscape of water treatment technologies.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in water treatment technologies and maintain a thorough understanding of current market offerings.
  • Lead research into new and existing technologies and their applications, focusing on establishing a pipeline of potential pilot projects and commercial partnerships.
  • Develop and implement an innovation strategy through collaboration with internal R&D, academic partnerships, and technology startups.
  • Translate research findings into market-ready solutions by coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with marketing, engineering, and external partners to ensure alignment on innovation objectives and commercialization strategies.
  • Engage with Commercial, Marketing Communications, and Marketing Intelligence teams to gather customer insights to address key product performance requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and commercial teams, visiting clients as necessary to support opportunities and problem-solving efforts, and develop training materials for commercial and field teams.
  • Analyze and benchmark competitor product offerings to identify gaps or opportunities within our product line.
  • Establish relationships with external research and technology partners.
  • Inspire and lead innovation initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's or PhD in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline with a focus on water treatment.
  • Over 5 years of experience in municipal or industrial water treatment or research and development (drinking water or wastewater).
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing innovation strategies for water treatment products.
  • Strong capability in translating research into commercially viable solutions.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to fostering innovation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and functions.
  • Proficient in building strategic partnerships and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 15% of the time.
