Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Council Communications Specialist to join our team at the City of Tulsa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to engage with the public, media, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive communication plan to promote the City's initiatives and programs.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to create engaging content for various channels, including social media, press releases, and newsletters.
  • Provide media relations support, including responding to media inquiries and preparing spokespeople for interviews.
  • Assist in the development of public education campaigns to promote City programs and services.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a bachelor's degree in a related field, such as communications, public relations, or journalism, and at least two years of experience in a similar role. You will also need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:
