Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team at The Chefs' Warehouse. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and coaching warehouse team members to select, replenish, receive, and load product for customer orders safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and positively coach warehouse team members to achieve individual performance goals and objectives.
  • Proactively identify and remove obstacles for teams and individual team members.
  • Support the consistent application of all policies, procedures, and guidelines while leading by example and effectively communicating expectations to team members.
  • Identify and report safety hazards, and maintain the physical condition of the warehouse and its equipment.
  • Analyze the current operation and make recommendations to improve expense and cost control.
  • Support business change and development through process improvements.
  • Work with operations management team to lead initiatives to reduce damages and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Coach individual team members to accurately use voice and computer systems to reduce mis-picks and improve inventory accuracy.
  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse, inspecting equipment, and issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Support warehouse operations regarding employee schedules, work-loads, and identifying individual obstacles or team barriers to supervisors and managers across multiple shifts and/or the department.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety requirements.
Requirements
  • Experience positively engaging peers and teams while working through diverse and challenging opportunities to effectively deliver results.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated success in following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in a warehouse distribution setting with a focus on inventory control, replenishment, and outbound loading and shipping operations.
  • Ability to understand data and results while articulating the same to individual team members.
  • Team player who works productively with a wide range of staff.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
  • Aptitude to learn and apply computer systems, tools, and software systems to support day-to-day warehouse operations.
