Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment, preparing patients for examination, and ensuring that proper information is obtained for diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT Equipment: Utilize advanced CT technology to capture high-quality images of patients, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by explaining procedures, positioning patients on the exam table, and ensuring proper slice thickness and couch increment.
  • Imaging Protocols: Collaborate with radiologists to extend imaging parameters, if needed, within established protocols.
  • Contrast Administration: Administer intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per radiologist order, and perform venipuncture of the appropriate gauge necessary for examination.
  • Image Transmission: Transmit cases to on-call radiologists through the use of Tele-Radiology systems.
  • Quality Control: Maintain accurate records and ensure that all imaging procedures are performed in accordance with established protocols and quality control standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Vocational or technical school diploma required.
  • Licensure: Current license to practice as a radiologic technologist in New York State, and current ARRT registration required.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of technical experience in CT imaging required.
