Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician

Community Counseling Center is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at the Lou Masterman Center (LMC) in Cape Girardeau, MO.

About the Role:

The Behavioral Health Technician will provide direct care to clients in a residential treatment setting, promoting their safety, comfort, and well-being. This includes assisting with skill building, participating in groups and social activities, and intervening in crisis situations when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide care to clients in a trauma-informed approach, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Promote and educate clients on activities of daily living, including household management and self-care management tasks.
  • Teach functional living skills, such as anger management, impulse control, social/communication skills, relaxation skills, and emotional coping skills, based on individual treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to coordinate client care services.
  • Complete and chart client observations according to agency policy and procedure.
  • Conduct ongoing checks, including personal belongings, room checks, and grounds checks, based on agency policy and procedure.
  • Ensure protective oversight of clients, monitor their condition, and follow agency policy and procedure regarding medical emergencies or elopement.
  • Transport clients to and from appointments as needed and appropriate.
  • Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations when needed.
  • Distribute medications and document according to agency policy and procedure.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, ability to obtain a Class E license, and proof of continuous auto insurance.
