Job Summary

The Tax Provision Manager position at Altice USA is responsible for preparing and reviewing the company's tax provision and tax reporting process, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations. This role also involves maintaining various models for cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting, as well as assisting with the preparation and filing of corporate and partnership income tax filings. Additionally, the Tax Provision Manager will be responsible for modeling and implementing tax savings strategies, responding to federal, state, and local tax audits and notices, and working with the tax team and financial planning team to forecast cash taxes and determine the impact of company initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review income tax provision related to quarterly income tax accounting requirements, including SOX and other internal controls.
  • Prepare and/or review and/or work with outside vendors to perform income tax calculations, original and amended tax returns, extensions, and estimates.
  • Work with the tax team and financial planning team to forecast cash taxes, determine the impact of company initiatives, and perform due diligence and impact review for mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, or other corporate reorganization/restructuring.
  • Identify changes in tax laws, accounting methods, or legislative or judicial activity on tax law, and communicate the impact of these changes on Altice USA or the industry.
  • Coordinate and/or assist on tax savings strategies, cost/benefit reviews for tax initiatives, and managing audits and notices.
  • Evaluate the merits of tax positions presented by tax authorities and their proposed audit adjustments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Certified public accountant preferred.
  • Master's in taxation, JD, and/or LLM preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of income tax experience in public accounting or large public company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical tax information to both tax and non-tax personnel.
  • Proficient in income tax accounting (ASC 740).
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and processes.
  • Proficient with tax reporting software (OneSource) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, organized and attentive to details, and ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls.
