Japanese OEM Program Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Japanese OEM Program Manager to support our operations in the Plymouth, MI area.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' work experience in project / engineering management, technical sales, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position with occasional visits to customer sites on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain documentation regarding project status, engineering changes, product information, etc.
  • Communicate with customers regarding projects and provide status updates
  • Creation of department / project activity reports for internal use
  • Act as point of contact for customers to address any urgent questions, requests, or issues
  • Projecting potential inventory, material, and manpower needs for projects
  • Assist with budget planning and cost reduction analysis
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with internal employees and customers regarding project status
  • Responsible for the whole process for program launch including product development
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical Engineering field, OR in Business Administration is preferred
  • Minimum 1-3 years' work experience in Automotive Sales, Program Management, Applications Engineering, or Technical Sales with Toyota or Honda
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication ability in a multicultural environment
  • Organizational and time management ability
  • Up to 20% business travel may be required
