Position Overview:

The Accounting Policy Analyst will be responsible for applying U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in various accounting and reporting functions. This role includes providing support for transaction-based accounting, assisting in the formulation of accounting policies, and preparing detailed technical accounting documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the periodic close and reporting processes related to revenue, contingency accruals, share-based payment compensation, derivatives, and non-routine transactions.
  • Engage in the evaluation of company-wide accounting policies, new accounting standards, and relevant financial reporting guidance.
  • Collaborate with external auditors on complex and technical accounting matters.
  • Contribute to the organization’s internal control systems and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Stay informed about existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with U.S. GAAP or SEC reporting in a public company or public accounting environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with revenue recognition and accounting practices specific to publicly traded government contractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is advantageous.
