Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist

The Registered Dental Hygienist is a vital member of our dental team, responsible for providing high-quality oral hygiene and preventive services to our patients. As a key player in maintaining the oral health of our community, you will work closely with our dental operations manager and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent patient care and dental services, assessing dental conditions and needs using approved patient screening procedures.
  • Integrate dental preventative and hygiene services with other healthcare professionals involved in patient care management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
  • Assist with emergency measures during treatments and perform tasks to achieve organizational and departmental goals.
  • Organize and conduct preventative oral health presentations at on-site and off-site locations as assigned.
  • Travel to satellite clinic locations and local schools as needed.
  • Assist in training dental assistants and other dental staff.
  • Participate in the development of Hunter Health Clinic and community dental hygiene outreach and education programs.
  • Attend dental hygiene continuing education to ensure continued learning and provide information to department leaders.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental hygiene.
  • Current license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the state of Kansas, with ongoing continuing education hours to maintain active licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • ECP-II certification, obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Bilingualism in English and Spanish is preferred.
Physical and Mental Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform the essential job functions, including speaking clearly and effectively, hearing average conversations, and using hands to handle, feel, and reach. The ability to sit, stand, walk, and use fingers to make small movements is also necessary. The work environment is well-lit and climate-controlled, with occasional high noise levels and potential exposure to infectious diseases. The ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds is required.
