Job Summary

Piedmont Geriatric Hospital and Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation are seeking a skilled Trades Manager I to oversee the maintenance and repair of various facilities. This role involves supervising a team of tradespeople, ensuring compliance with building codes, and coordinating projects to meet the needs of both institutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of tradespeople, including plumbers, carpenters, painters, HVAC technicians, electricians, and locksmiths.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Coordinate and manage building construction and renovation projects.
  • Assign work, prepare job estimates, and initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Provide supervision and training to staff.
  • Inspect work upon completion to ensure quality and compliance.
Requirements
  • Experience as a maintenance manager/supervisor in a building/maintenance trade.
  • Certification in one trade required, with knowledge of other trades necessary for maintaining a state facility.
  • Experience interacting with residents/patients within an institutional environment.
  • Experience in providing supervision and/or training to staff.
  • Experience in troubleshooting mechanical aspects of buildings.
