Deibel Laboratories Inc. has been a leader in food safety testing since 1967, providing critical services in both Microbiology and Chemistry. Our role is essential in ensuring the safety of food products for a diverse range of clients, from large producers to family-owned businesses.

We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Manager to oversee our office operations.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience, starting at $17 - $19 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday, 9 AM to 5:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the administrative functions of the facility.
  • Support in employee discipline and termination processes as per company guidelines.
  • Guide team members in conflict resolution and conduct necessary disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and interviews for prospective candidates.
  • Assist in staffing requirements and scheduling in collaboration with management.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Provide support to associates with various benefits systems and troubleshooting issues.
  • Ensure timely completion of New Hire and Annual performance reviews.
  • Address workplace challenges such as morale and attendance issues.
  • Organize team-building activities to enhance engagement and morale.
  • Prepare meetings to inform associates about company policies and benefits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Act as the timekeeper for associates, managing time-off requests and payroll preparations.
  • Oversee courier routes and vehicle maintenance.
  • Coordinate office equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Accurately enter data into various systems.
  • Proactively resolve onsite issues as they arise.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities to meet the needs of the laboratory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute.
  • Strong understanding of office management practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality in all matters.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a management role.
  • Must reside within 30 miles of the laboratory.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in conflict resolution and handling difficult conversations.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in office administration or a related field is a plus.
  • At least three years of administrative and clerical experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment using standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations.
  • Work involves sitting, talking, hearing, and typing.
