Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Geriatric Psych Unit at Lutheran Hospital. As a Geriatric Psych Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to older adults with complex psychiatric needs, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to patients with geriatric psychiatric needs, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care or community-based services.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in geriatric psychiatric care.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Ohio.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- One year of experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
