Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse

About the Role:
Cleveland Clinic's Lutheran Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our 6D Geriatric Psych Unit. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients aged 55 and older.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, implementing and monitoring individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, including medication administration, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Assess and respond to patient needs, prioritizing care activities based on acuity and resource availability.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in geriatric care.
Requirements:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Previous experience in medical and psychiatric patient care, preferably in a geriatric setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
