Ace Hardware Corporation is seeking an experienced Logistics Business Manager to oversee the company's shipping and transportation operations. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the timely delivery of products to retailers and customers, while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.

Job Summary

The Logistics Business Manager will be responsible for leading a team of staff members and hourly employees to manage the company's $10-$15 million transportation and shipping operation. This includes strategic planning, budgeting, expense management, and capital planning. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of transportation experience, with at least 5 years of leadership experience.

The Logistics Business Manager will serve as the senior point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including Retail Operations, District Managers, and Ace retailers. This role requires strong leadership, management, and strategic thinking skills, as well as excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain a safety-first culture in warehouse and on-road operations, incorporate training partners and technology systems, and lead multiple projects simultaneously to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and ongoing evaluation of standard work instructions to standardize expectations and serve as an on-boarding resource for new leaders and employees.
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT and other regulatory body requirements, as well as internal policies through training, auditing, and coaching as needed.
  • Lead, support, and encourage Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork.
  • Create and execute strategy to leverage equipment and drivers to drive 3rd party carrier revenue.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current or future logistics strategies, identify cost reduction or process improvement opportunities, and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics/transportation or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of transportation experience required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience required.
  • Experience working with 3rd party customer or brokers to increase revenue strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience building and managing a budget with P&L ownership strongly preferred.
