About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee the daily operations of our service department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our service department runs efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:- Forecasts and achieves departmental goals and objectives
- Hires, trains, and develops a high-performing service team
- Prepares and manages the service department's budget
- Monitors and controls departmental performance using various reports and tracking systems
- Develops and implements a marketing plan to promote new and repeat business
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Understands and ensures compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures
- Accounts for all documents and ensures accurate processing
- Facilitates technical training and sends employees to relevant training schools as needed
- Monitors technician productivity and payroll records
- Follows up on parts orders with the Parts Manager to ensure availability
- Initials repair orders before submitting them to the warranty department
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals
- Maintains high-quality service repairs and minimizes comebacks
- Ensures a clean and organized work environment
- Establishes and maintains relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities
- Serves as a liaison with factory representatives
- Ensures proper care, storage, and inventory of special tools
- Ensures customer service files are up-to-date and readily available
- Handles customer complaints promptly and according to dealership guidelines
- Establishes and maintains 24-hour follow-up with customers to confirm satisfaction with the service experience
- 5+ years of experience as an automotive service manager
- Proven track record of success in leading a high-performing service team
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Strong understanding of service operations and management principles
