Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Education Coordinator - Middle School Support Specialist to join our team at the Dayton Area School Consortium. This role will focus on providing support to middle school students in need of intervention, ensuring they receive the necessary resources and guidance to succeed academically.

About the Role

This position is responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans for students, collaborating with teachers and other educational professionals to identify areas of improvement, and developing strategies to address these needs. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with students, parents, and staff, and possess a strong understanding of educational principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students requiring intervention* Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to address these needs* Provide academic support to students, both individually and in small groups, to ensure they meet academic standards* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their child's progress and involve them in the decision-making process* Stay up-to-date with changes in educational policies, procedures, and best practices

Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Education or related field* 2+ years of experience working in education, preferably in a middle school setting* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks accordingly* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly
