About the Role

The Visual Merchandiser supports the management team in achieving goals by providing World-Class service. As a role model, they build relationships with customers and maintain a presence on the sales floor to ensure appropriate staff coverage areas.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who is excited about creating engaging experiences for customers by sharing expertise on styling, decorating, and entertaining. They will seek out and promote innovative ways to make West Elm a neighborhood destination for inspiration.

The Visual Merchandiser will interpret and execute visual inspiration to drive sales and convey the eclectic, creative, and modern spirit of the brand. They will ensure merchandising and displays are visually compelling to drive sales and model and coach associates on how to uphold visual standards.

The ideal candidate will promote the lifestyle and protect the image of the West Elm Brand. They will make the store a fun, inspirational neighborhood destination and continually seek out inspiration, trends, and ways to elevate product, decorating, and styling expertise.

Responsibilities include replenishing the sales floor regularly, maintaining visual presentation and displays, and executing floorset to reflect the inspiration, standards, and spirit of the directive within the required timeframe.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in merchandising or visual roles, with 1-2 years of experience in home-related design or visual merchandising preferred. They will have effective communication, organization, and leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate and influence others through personal actions and examples.

A college degree is preferred or equivalent job experience. The candidate will be able to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods, operate a POS system, and lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 75 pounds, while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
