Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team at the Harris and Smith at Capitol Street clinic in Durham, NC. As an integral member of the healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, performing clinical assessment and diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, ob-gyn, vascular, infant head/hip/spine, and interventional procedures, as well as fetal cardiac echocardiograms.
- Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the Physician.
- Proficiently perform ultrasound procedures without assistance from fellow sonographers.
- Actively engage in continuing education and educational pursuits to improve quality, safety, and overall services to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members to achieve quality patient outcomes.
- Ensure safe clinical care of patients by collaborating with the healthcare team to assess, plan, identify priorities, set realistic goals, and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care.
- Complete exam tracking/billing accurately on a daily basis.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintain adequate supplies.
- Graduate or completion of a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification.
- Ability to work day shifts.
