Job Title: Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Geology courses at Northern VA Community College.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach specific classes in Geology, developing course syllabi and instructional materials.
  • Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS.
  • Maintain current competence in Geology.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • Prior experience teaching in higher education is preferred.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Experience teaching students from diverse language backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.

Work Environment: This is a part-time position with a teaching load based on student enrollment and staffing needs.
