Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Manager performs inspection duties in accordance with company standards for satisfactory performance. This role is responsible for supervising the housekeeping team, ensuring that all rooms are cleaned to a high standard, and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure that all rooms are cleaned to a high standard.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms to ensure that they meet company standards.
  • Address guest complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment.
  • Assign work to housekeeping staff and ensure that they have the necessary resources to complete their tasks.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the housekeeper and ensure that they are addressed promptly.
  • Examine carpets, drapes, and furniture for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to the housekeeper.
  • Check and count linens and supplies and communicate any needs to the housekeeper.
  • Record inspection results and inform housekeeping staff of any inadequacies.
  • Verify that staffing levels are appropriate for business levels.
  • Operate the hotel's property management system.
  • Handle lost and found inquiries and all pertinent procedures.
  • Check vacant, expected departure, and discrepant rooms.
  • Issue and inventory keys.
  • Communicate with other departments as necessary.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings.
  • Clean rooms and assist with laundry when necessary.
  • Inspect linen closets and storage areas.

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred.
  • At least two years of housekeeping experience and three years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with guests, customers, supervisors, and fellow employees in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to analyze routine data to make appropriate judgments regarding the process of inspecting/cleaning guest rooms and supervisory duties.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds. The job frequently requires the use of arms, hands, and fingers. It also requires walking, sitting, crouching, kneeling, and standing.

Hours:

This is a full-time role that requires the ability to work rotating shifts, night shifts, and/or overtime. Depending on the season, hours may be reduced at any time.
