ABOUT ROCKY MOUNT EVENT CENTER:

As the premier event venue in the region, Rocky Mount Event Center offers a versatile space of 165,000 square feet, designed to host a variety of events, from sports competitions to corporate gatherings. Our facility is equipped with the necessary functionality and guest services to ensure memorable experiences for attendees. Rocky Mount Event Center is part of the SFM Network, the largest and fastest-growing network of sports facilities in the nation, operated by the industry leader in outsourced operations, Sports Facilities Management.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Server role entails providing food and beverage service to guests. This position is customer-facing and is dedicated to delivering exceptional dining experiences to all visitors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the menu, including ingredients and pricing.
  • Effectively communicate daily specials and make informed recommendations to guests.
  • Accurately take food orders and coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and proper meal preparation.
  • Execute all table service tasks with a commitment to exceeding guest expectations.
  • Complete assigned side work and assist colleagues as necessary.
  • Support bussing tables, seating guests, taking to-go orders, and maintaining cleanliness in the front of house.
  • Roll silverware as required on a daily basis.
  • Report tip income accurately on a daily basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective communication skills with guests, management, and team members.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing proficiency.
  • Fundamental computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Understanding of workplace safety protocols.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Regularly reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop, and clean.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs. consistently.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Maintain a neat and clean uniform and present a well-groomed appearance.
