Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, supporting the needs of our patients and the mission of WakeMed. This role involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing various tasks to ensure the comfort and well-being of our patients. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including vital signs, injections, and other medical procedures
- Assist with medical procedures, such as preparing patients for exams and procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Support the mission and values of WakeMed, promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Graduate Medical Assisting preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required within 24 months of hire
- 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
Work Schedule:
Monday to Thursday, 7am - 5pm; Friday, 7am - 3pm
Weekend and Call Requirements:
No weekend or call requirements
