We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our cardiac service line float nurse team. As a cardiac care nurse specialist, you will be cross-trained to work in both our cardiac surgery and cardiovascular/stroke stepdown units.

Our hospital is devoted to flexible scheduling and balancing the needs of the unit and staff. You will have the opportunity to work with nationally recognized, elite cardiac care teams who are ranked top 10% in the nation for Cardiac Surgery Programs and recognized American Heart Association Cardiovascular Center of Excellence.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience and a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing. They will also maintain all licensures and certifications according to NYS regulations and specialty area requirements.

About the Role
  • You will participate in various roles to ensure quality patient care is provided with optimum outcomes.
  • You will collaborate, communicate, and facilitate optimal provision of care with assistance of computerized and/or digital platforms.
  • You will assess, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient plans of care from admission to discharge.
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the patient record.
  • Act as a mentor, clinician, educator, consultant/collaborator, and navigator.
