Job Summary

The Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Nurse Specialist will administer medication to perform moderate sedation; participate in diagnostic and treatment procedures in the SUNY Upstate Medical University Electrophysiology Lab.

Responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to:

  • Documenting activities of patient care and testing.
  • Assisting physicians in testing and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias in the Electrophysiology lab.
  • Communicating results of testing to cardiologists/electrophysiologists, nursing and case managers.
  • Continuing education research and patient teaching.

The RN will also participate in patient care and unit activities of HVC departments of Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab and ECHO Lab.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing or equivalent, NYS RN licensure (or eligible) with a minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience (preferably in an ICU/critical care setting).
  • Certification in CPR/BLS required at time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ACLS certification preferred.

Work Arrangement

  • Monday - Friday, Flexible Days

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year
